The Kosovo Police has scheduled a press conference for 3:00 PM today, May 25, 2025, to address police actions taken in northern Mitrovica on May 23, following public and political reactions to the high school graduation parade (defile) held in the region.

The media briefing will be led by Kosovo Police Director General, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, and will take place at the Regional Police Directorate – Central Station, Prishtina.

The announcement comes amid growing attention over the events in the north and increasing calls for clarity regarding police presence and response during the parade, which was viewed by some as sensitive due to ethnic and security tensions in the area.

The statement by the Kosovo Police noted:
“Today, May 25, 2025, the Kosovo Police will hold a press conference regarding police actions taken on May 23 in North Mitrovica. The Director General of the Kosovo Police, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, will participate in this briefing.”

Further details are expected to be disclosed during the conference, including operational decisions, security assessments, and any follow-up measures that may be implemented in the region.
