The 2025 Budget Bill has passed its first reading in the Kosovo Assembly with 59 votes in favor, reports Gazeta Sinjali.
A total of 61 members of parliament voted on the bill, with two abstaining.
Meanwhile, Armend Muja, a member of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), requested that the second vote on the 2025 Budget Bill be held on November 21. However, opposition parties in the Assembly opposed this request.
The proposed budget for 2025 amounts to 3.6 billion euros, which is a 9% increase compared to this year’s budget.
During the presentation, Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti described the proposed budget as “historic.”
Today’s review was the first in the Kosovo Assembly. The budget will be subject to a second reading, and in some cases, a third reading as well. It is expected to be approved by the end of this year.
