Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has called for a swift and uncompromising investigation following the death of Agon Zejnullahu in Lipjan early yesterday morning.
In a statement, Sveçla said he immediately requested urgent and professional engagement from the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) and full cooperation from the Kosovo Police in uncovering the full circumstances of the case.
“As Minister of Internal Affairs, upon being informed of the incident, I demanded immediate and professional action from the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo, as well as complete cooperation from the Kosovo Police throughout the investigation. The inquiry is already underway at full intensity,” Sveçla wrote.
He added that the collaboration between the Kosovo Police, the Police Inspectorate, the Institute of Forensic Medicine, and the Prosecutor’s Office is crucial to clarifying the circumstances surrounding this serious incident.
Sveçla also extended his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and emphasized the importance of preserving public trust in the Kosovo Police through transparency, justice, and accountability in all cases.
