Kosovo’s Acting President, Albulena Haxhiu, has formally received the credentials of Switzerland’s newly appointed ambassador to Kosovo, Anne-Lise Cattin Hennin, marking the beginning of her diplomatic mission in the country.
Haxhiu welcomed Ambassador Cattin Hennin to Kosovo and wished her success in her new post, expressing confidence that bilateral relations between Kosovo and Switzerland will continue to deepen during her mandate.
“Kosovo deeply values Switzerland’s friendship and support, which has stood alongside our citizens during the most difficult times and continues today through political, economic, development and security cooperation,” Haxhiu said.
The Acting President also highlighted the important role played by Kosovo’s diaspora in Switzerland in strengthening ties between the two countries.
She described the Kosovo community in Switzerland as an important bridge between the two societies, noting its contribution to the economic, social and cultural life of both countries.
Haxhiu assured Ambassador Cattin Hennin of her full cooperation in further strengthening the partnership between the Republic of Kosovo and the Swiss Confederation.
The meeting comes as Kosovo and Switzerland continue to maintain close political, economic and people-to-people ties, with the Kosovo diaspora in Switzerland representing a particularly important link between the two countries.
