Kosovo’s Ambassador to Israel, Tamara Ziv, has issued a strong response to the threats posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, calling them a shared danger to the democratic world and an existential challenge to global security.

Referring to the recent statement by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on June 17 — in which he said, “Israel is doing the dirty work for all of us” and that “this regime of mullahs has brought death and destruction upon the world” — Ambassador Ziv emphasized that this statement “articulates a fundamental truth that can no longer be ignored.”

She stated that the Iranian regime has built a global network of terrorist proxies — from Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis, to sleeper cells across all continents. “This represents a coordinated challenge to global peace,” the ambassador asserted.

In her statement, she stressed that Iran’s ambition to develop nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles “is not a defensive measure, but a tool of intimidation aimed at subjugating European governments.” She warned that Europe is a clear target of this regime and must not remain indifferent.

The ambassador praised the efforts of Israel and the United States to halt Iran’s nuclear program, calling them “a critical contribution to global security.”

“The path forward requires the courage to clearly name our enemies,” she emphasized, describing the Iranian regime as the leader of a radical Islamist ideology that threatens the very foundations of Western democracies.

Ambassador Ziv concluded her message with a call for Europe to maintain its “moral compass,” strengthen its alliances with democracies such as Israel, and strategically confront the jihadist actors threatening peace and stability.
