Jeton Zulfaj, newly appointed Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union and National Coordinator for the Reform and Growth Instrument, held his first official meeting since taking office with Eva Palatova, Acting Head of the EU Office in Kosovo.
During the meeting, Zulfaj reaffirmed Kosovo’s strategic commitment to European Union membership. Palatova congratulated Zulfaj on his appointment and reiterated the EU’s continued support for Kosovo’s reform agenda.
Discussions focused on the current state of the integration process and the implementation of the Growth Plan, emphasizing that sustained efforts are needed following the ratification of agreements.
Zulfaj stressed that his mandate would be results-driven, highlighting the importance of fully meeting all obligations outlined in the Growth Plan. He expressed Kosovo’s readiness to work closely with EU institutions to ensure steady progress in reforms.
“I am aware of past delays, and we will do our utmost to ensure that every step of the Growth Plan is fulfilled. I look forward to translating this new phase into tangible results in the integration process,” Zulfaj said. He emphasized that achieving candidate status and advancing Kosovo’s EU integration process remain the government’s primary objectives.
Zulfaj thanked Palatova for her visit and cooperation.
