The Chief of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate, Kushtrim Hodaj, along with his team, is on an official visit to Washington D.C.
This visit includes meetings at the Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) at the Department of Justice, and the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Accompanied by the DOJ-ICITAP Attaché, Kimberly Riffe, and ICITAP staff in Kosovo, as well as a major from the Kosovo Police’s internal investigations, the delegation met with key officials, including the Director of INL, the Kosovo Desk Officer, and the INL Program Officer.
The Kosovo delegation was hosted by the ICITAP Central Office staff and the FBI’s International Operations and Internal Affairs staff.
“During these meetings, Chief Hodaj informed U.S. officials about the achievements and ongoing challenges of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate, while expressing gratitude for the exceptional cooperation and support from the U.S. Embassy and its services in advancing law enforcement in Kosovo. U.S. government leaders acknowledged the strong partnership and pledged continued support, emphasizing the importance of strengthening regional and international cooperation to combat organized crime and corruption.
This visit, supported by the ICITAP Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, precedes the delegation’s participation in the annual conference of the National Internal Affairs Investigators Association (NIAIA), scheduled to be held in Washington, D.C. from August 25 to 29. The delegation also visited the Kosovo Embassy in Washington, where they were received by embassy diplomats and the police attaché.” – reported the IPK.
