Luljeta Mehmeti-Quigley, one of Kosovo’s pioneering police officers and the first female police colonel in the Kosovo Police since 2001, has graduated from the FBI National Academy.
Mehmeti-Quigley joined the Kosovo Police in 2000, shortly after its establishment, and quickly rose through the ranks to hold several command positions. She later moved to the United Kingdom before returning to Kosovo in 2013 to continue her service.
Announcing her achievement on social media, Mehmeti-Quigley said:
“Graduation Ceremony of Session 296 of the FBI National Academy! A life-changing experience—proud to be an FBI graduate.”
The American-Albanian Law Enforcement Association (AALEA) hailed her accomplishment as an extraordinary milestone and a significant step forward for women in Kosovo’s security sector.
“A proud moment for our community and for all women in law enforcement, breaking barriers and inspiring entire generations. Bravo Kosovo,” AALEA wrote.
This achievement marks a historic moment for Kosovo’s police force, highlighting the increasing role of women in leadership positions and their contribution to law enforcement at an international level.
