Kosovo’s Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, announced that the Ministry of Health of Kosovo has secured $10,063,676 in funding from the third financing round of the Pandemic Fund.
According to Vitia, on February 12, 2026, the fund’s Governing Board allocated $499.6 million to 20 projects worldwide, mobilizing more than $4 billion in additional financing from various international partners. Kosovo is among the beneficiary countries through the MAKE READY project, which focuses on strengthening preparedness for health emergencies.
The project is expected to support several key improvements, including:
- Earlier identification of health risks
- Faster response to public health emergencies
- Strengthening laboratory systems
- More efficient management of public health crises
Vitia expressed gratitude to the Pandemic Fund and international partners, emphasizing that the financial support will play a crucial role in reinforcing Kosovo’s healthcare system and improving readiness for future health threats.
