Dimal Basha, Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, held a meeting with Aivo Orav, Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, to discuss recent political developments and the importance of an effective legislature for advancing Kosovo’s EU integration agenda.
During the meeting, Speaker Basha requested the removal of EU-imposed measures against Kosovo and highlighted the importance of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe as a mechanism to strengthen human rights and freedoms for all citizens.
Basha thanked the EU for its continued support throughout Kosovo’s state-building process, emphasizing the Union’s role in various projects and initiatives over the years.
In response, Aivo Orav congratulated Basha on his new role and stressed the importance of functional institutions. He reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to close cooperation and strong support for Kosovo, which remains crucial for the country’s development and full integration into European structures.
