The numbers were randomly drawn by the Central Election Commission (KQZ), with representatives from various parties pulling numbers from two separate containers—one containing political party names and the other containing the corresponding ballot numbers. However, representatives from Lista Serbe and Srbska Demokratka did not participate in the draw, which led to the numbers for these two parties being drawn by KQZ members.

Voter Eligibility and International Voting
Kreshnik Radoniqi, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, explained that preparations for the February 9 elections began in August. On January 4, 2025, the KQZ finalized and certified the voter list, revealing that 2,075,868 eligible voters will have the right to vote in the upcoming elections. Of these, 1,970,944 voters are based within Kosovo, while 104,924 are registered to vote abroad.

Voting will be conducted in 17 embassies and 15 consulates across 19 countries, facilitating the participation of the Kosovo diaspora in the elections.

Political Landscape Ahead of Elections
A total of 27 political entities will participate in the February 2025 elections, including 19 political parties, five coalitions, two civic initiatives, and one independent candidate. This marks the first regular parliamentary election in Kosovo since its declaration of independence in 2008.

With the political scene shaping up and preparations underway, the elections will be pivotal in determining the future direction of Kosovo’s government.
