“Little Putin”. This is how the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, referred to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, in an interview today with the British media The Telegraph.
The British media writes that “Kurti’s biggest concern as the leader of Kosovo is Mr. Vucic, whom he described as a ‘Little Putin’ due to his close friendship with the Russian president”.
He said it was “no surprise” that in December last year, Vucic showed “public admiration for Ilham Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan”, when he took the contentious region of Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenian forces, given his ambition to conquer Kosovo.
“Because of the threat Serbia is posing to us and because of its many connections with the Kremlin, to have more capabilities and skills for our army and police and more NATO troops would increase the security of our country and the region,” Kurti emphasized.
“I believe as long as Serbia does not recognize Kosovo, as long as Serbia maintains 48 operational bases around our country, and as long as Serbia is a close ally of the Kremlin, there should be more capabilities on our side and more NATO troops,” Prime Minister Kurti further added.
