The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPC) has established a Supervisory Commission to monitor cases of corruption and economic crimes, as part of implementing the Prosecutorial System’s Strategic Plan 2025–2027.

At the meeting, Erza Bajrami was appointed as Chair of the commission, while Shkelzen Ibrahimi and Besim Kelmendi were named members.

The Chair of the KPC, Arian Gashi, proposed Bajrami for the role, highlighting her extensive experience in handling corruption and economic crime cases, particularly her previous work in the specialized unit in Prishtina.

During the same meeting, the KPC also reviewed the Commission for Prosecutors’ Performance Evaluation, discussing the continuation of mandates for current members Nazan Shero and Aleksandër Lumezi.

Gashi stated that there is no legal basis to appoint new members, but only to reconfirm the mandates of the existing ones.

However, KPC member Visar Krasniqi opposed this approach, arguing that reforms should involve not only structural changes but also new composition and substance, including proper nomination procedures and more active field evaluations of prosecutors’ performance.
