The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, stated that there is no exact figure for the results from the vote count so far, while also announcing a preliminary result later in the night.
He said in a press conference that he does not know the exact current result of the votes, although he emphasized that “the manually counted results remain accurate.”
“I do not want to speculate on those. I apologize again as the CEC for any possible misinformation to the citizens. I don’t know for sure. So, it remains that the manually counted results are accurate,” said Radoniqi, when asked about some numbers that appeared on the CEC’s website.
He mentioned that they do not know what is happening with the update of results in the electronic system, adding, “I would ask you not to refer to that, I kindly request.”
“The company doesn’t know what happened, our CEC experts don’t know what happened, and I don’t know how to give you an answer,” said Radoniqi.
The CEC leader stated that the data from the forms “are accurate.”
“What I want to say is that the data from the forms where the votes have been counted are accurate, and we will reflect those in our data and provide the results,” he said.
He apologized several times, stressing that “the integrity of the citizens’ votes has not been compromised.”
“I believe that during the night, as soon as this process is completed, we will release a preliminary result.”
