The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, said he considers the meeting with all parliamentary party leaders at the President’s office a positive step, even though there were no concrete moves in the first round of talks.
“Today we attended the meeting, and I’m pleased it was held at the President’s initiative. I want to emphasize that as PDK, since last week, we proposed that the President take a more active role within her constitutional responsibilities, as the guarantor of national unity and institutional functionality.”
“In the absence of institutional functionality, we believed that as the only leader of high state institutions with a legitimate mandate, she should bring us together. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for all of us to meet. I didn’t have high hopes for a solution today, but it was a step forward,” Krasniqi told Dukagjini.
“From our point of view, as PDK, we have tried at every step to make sure our actions and positions contribute to overcoming the crisis and deadlock that we face not only as an Assembly but as a country.”
