Prishtina, August 6, 2025 – The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, has renewed his call for mass participation in the August 7 protest against what he described as injustices by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
In a public statement, Krasniqi emphasized that the protest is not just a political response but a national act of conscience.
“Let the voice of everyone be heard—those who do not accept that the war for freedom is being stained, that our history is being unjustly rewritten, and that justice is being turned into injustice,” he wrote.
Krasniqi urged citizens to gather on Wednesday, August 7, at 17:00, in Skanderbeg Square, Prishtina.
The protest is being organized in solidarity with former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) who are on trial, as supporters argue that the Specialist Chambers are undermining the legitimacy of Kosovo’s liberation struggle.

“Tomorrow, on August 7, at 17:00, we gather in Skanderbeg Square – in a protest that is not merely a reaction, but an act of national conscience.
Let the voice of every citizen resonate – of those who refuse to allow our war for freedom to be stained, our history to be unjustly rewritten, and our justice system to become a source of injustice.
With the liberators. For justice. For Kosovo.”
The protest is expected to draw significant participation from citizens, war veterans, and political activists.
