The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, along with the party’s Secretary General, attended a reception hosted by the Embassy of Japan in Kosovo, held in honor of Professor Hisashi Owada, who is visiting Kosovo to receive the title of “Doctor Honoris Causa” from the University of Pristina.
Professor Owada was awarded this honorary title in recognition of his academic contribution and commitment to international law and peace promotion.
“Krasniqi highly praised Professor Owada’s dedication to justice, describing him as a distinguished figure with exceptional devotion in this field,” the PDK statement said.
Professor Owada notably served as President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2010, when the court ruled that Kosovo’s declaration of independence did not violate international law—a landmark decision in the country’s statehood journey.
