Pristina, August 6, 2025 — Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman, a survivor of wartime sexual violence and former member of the Kosovo Assembly, has voiced her strong support for the protest scheduled to take place on August 7. The protest is being organized in response to what organizers describe as “the injustices of the Special Court against former KLA leaders.”
Krasniqi-Goodman emphasized that her participation is not about defending individuals, but about defending the collective dignity and the historical truth of Kosovo’s liberation struggle.
“The reason I will be at the protest on August 7 is simple: In a world where Serbian war criminals still walk free, it is unacceptable for our former soldiers to be facing injustice,” she wrote.
“I am not coming out to defend individuals, but to defend our collective dignity, our right to equal justice. I stand as a citizen of this state who cannot remain silent while our history is being stained by double standards.”
She stressed that justice is not possible without truth, and peace cannot be achieved without justice.
“The KLA was not a crime – it was the shield of this people.”
“That’s why I will be there on August 7. For history, for dignity, for Kosovo.”
