The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, held a meeting with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, during her official visit to Kosovo.

In this meeting, Krasniqi informed Kallas that the PDK has contributed and remains ready to continue contributing to the resolution of the current political crisis in the country.

“Tonight, I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, during her visit to Kosovo. We discussed the political developments in the country and the need for institutional stability and progress on Kosovo’s path toward European integration. I informed Ms. Kallas that PDK has given and remains fully prepared to give its contribution to resolving the ongoing political crisis, as well as to defending the civic and national interest,” Krasniqi wrote.

During the meeting, he also called on the EU to swiftly lift the punitive measures against Kosovo, seeing this as a concrete step towards the country’s European future and the strengthening of Kosovo–EU relations.

“In the meeting, I requested her commitment to the immediate removal of the punitive measures against Kosovo, as a concrete sign of support for our country’s European future and for advancing Kosovo–EU relations,” he added.

Krasniqi reiterated that the PDK remains committed to Western values, close cooperation with international partners, and to advancing Kosovo’s position on the international stage.
