The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, stated in a press conference that the final result shows that PDK has the votes for the municipal assembly in Drenas.
When asked by journalists whether it was a mistake not to nominate Ramiz Lladrovci as PDK’s candidate for mayor of Drenas, Krasniqi emphasized that citizens are the priority, not the individual.
“First, the decisions taken by a political party are based on its statutes and rules, which each party adopts for itself, and we have made such decisions for each candidate. We have not won everywhere, so the same question could be asked about any municipality where we did not win. What matters is the final result, and this result shows that the Democratic Party of Kosovo is currently leading, because the votes for the assembly have been counted and we are first. This is very important to me, especially in the current political context, as we expect parliamentary elections, most likely, before the new year.”
He added:
“Secondly, as far as I understand, Lladrovci will return to the office where he was previously, but the offices belong to the party’s legitimate leadership. I think the race there has concluded, and our focus now is on the runoff. Naturally, we will address the situation after this electoral process is completed, because in the end, the citizen of Drenas is more important to us than any individual or personal ambition.”
