Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, stated on Wednesday that it remains to be seen whether Vetëvendosje (VV) has shifted from its current inflexible political stance, following the conclusion of the consultation meetings planned by President Vjosa Osmani.

Speaking to the media after his meeting with the president, Krasniqi reaffirmed PDK’s readiness to contribute to resolving the political crisis, especially now that the Constitutional Court’s ruling has clarified the institutional responsibilities of all political actors.

“I reiterated PDK’s position and readiness to play our role in finding a solution to the political crisis—especially now that there is clarity from the Constitutional Court’s ruling. The ruling clearly defines the roles of each party. Primarily, it obligates the first coalition to seek compromise or consensus,” Krasniqi said.

He added that he hopes the president’s consultations will serve to unlock the institutional deadlock, but emphasized that it’s the upcoming meetings which will reveal whether VV and Albin Kurti are willing to compromise, or whether they remain the main obstacle to the Assembly’s constitution.

“We hope these consultations help find a way out. But it’s up to the remaining meetings planned by the president to show whether there’s any shift in the political stubbornness of VV and Albin Kurti that continues to block the Assembly,” he concluded.
