The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, reacted after yet another failed attempt to constitute the Assembly, criticizing the behavior of the ruling party and proposals he claims are contrary to the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure.

He stated that during consultations called by session presiding officer Avni Dehari from Vetëvendosje, it was proposed that the constitutive sessions be held only once a week—unlike what is stipulated in the Rules of Procedure.

“Today we had an unacceptable development. First, the deputies of the party that came out first did not even show up on time—they were 45 minutes late—and when they arrived, they made a request to systematically violate the Rules of Procedure,” said Krasniqi.

He emphasized that the proposal to reduce the frequency of sessions contradicts the official regulations.

“Their request was that, in contradiction to the Rules of Procedure—which state that we must meet every two days until the Assembly is constituted—they asked that we meet once a week,” said Krasniqi.

According to him, this situation presents two fundamental problems: “First, it is completely unacceptable to make such a request, asking deputies to knowingly break the rules. Second, this shows that their intention is not to find a solution, but to reduce the frequency of sessions from every two days to once a week.”
