Krasniqi: UK’s Support and QUINT Unity Are Key to Regional Stability

The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, met with the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, David Lammy, reaffirming the strong ties between the United Kingdom and Kosovo.

Krasniqi highlighted that Lammy’s visit is a clear signal of the UK’s ongoing commitment to Kosovo, particularly at a time when the country reflects on its past and the unwavering support of its allies during the war for liberation.

UK’s Strategic Role in Kosovo’s Future

Krasniqi emphasized Britain’s direct involvement in key processes for Kosovo, underlining the importance of continued engagement.

“The UK has always played a crucial role in Kosovo’s development, and we look forward to its ongoing dedication to our shared strategic goals,” Krasniqi stated.

He further stressed that Britain’s role, along with the unity of the QUINT group, remains essential in ensuring regional stability and progress.

PDK’s Vision for Kosovo’s Government

During the meeting, Krasniqi briefed Lammy on PDK’s vision for leading Kosovo’s next government under Bedri Hamza’s leadership. He outlined clear objectives, including economic growth, post-pandemic recovery, strengthened partnerships with strategic allies, and accelerated Euro-Atlantic integration.

New UK Envoy for the Western Balkans

Krasniqi welcomed the appointment of Ambassador Karen Pierce as the UK’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, expressing confidence that her extensive experience will contribute significantly to Kosovo’s diplomatic and regional initiatives.
