Leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, has stressed the urgency of forming new institutions without further delay, citing growing uncertainty and harm to the state’s normal functioning.
His remarks came during a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, Anu Prattipati, where they discussed the latest political developments in the country.
“As always, it was a pleasure to welcome Ms. Anu Prattipati, the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo. In the spirit of discussing current developments, I emphasized the need to form new institutions as soon as possible, as delays are creating uncertainty and damaging the normal functioning of the state,” Krasniqi stated.
He reaffirmed PDK’s commitment to acting responsibly in the interest of citizens and to ensuring institutional stability.
“PDK will continue to act responsibly, in the interest of the citizens, for institutional stability, and remains committed to a close partnership with the United States and our Western allies,” he added.
Kosovo continues to face a political deadlock following the February elections, with the formation of new institutions currently stalled pending a decision by the Constitutional Court, expected on August 8.
