A bilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump will be held in the coming days, according to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, as reported by Russian news agency IFAX and confirmed by Sky News.

“All sides have begun working on the details,” said Ushakov, noting that the location of the meeting has already been agreed upon but will be announced at a later stage.

The Kremlin official also revealed that during talks held on Wednesday between President Putin and Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, the idea of a trilateral summit involving Putin, Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was also discussed.

“At the suggestion of the American side, it was agreed in principle to hold a bilateral summit in the coming days — namely, a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump,” Ushakov stated.

While the meeting could take place as early as next week, Ushakov emphasized that it’s still too early to determine how long the preparations will take.

In a related development, President Zelensky confirmed a recent phone conversation with President Trump, following Steve Witkoff’s visit to Moscow.

Zelensky reiterated Ukraine’s clear stance in coordination with its international partners:

“The war must end,” he said.

This meeting, if held, would mark a significant diplomatic moment, possibly reshaping geopolitical dynamics in the region — especially amid continued conflict in Ukraine and growing calls for peace negotiations.
