The Kremlin has confirmed that U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Moscow next week to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.

The visit comes after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he would also send Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll to hold meetings with Ukrainian officials to advance a peace agreement.

Trump stated that his peace plan has been “improved” and left open the possibility that his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, may join the U.S. delegation in Moscow.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that the talks are progressing and described the process as “serious,” while warning that “many people” might try to obstruct them. He confirmed that Witkoff’s visit is part of these intensive diplomatic efforts to achieve a resolution to the conflict.
