The Kremlin has once again sharpened its rhetoric toward Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing Kyiv of a lack of gratitude toward its Western allies.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Ukraine is ready to “bite the hand that feeds it,” referring to criticism voiced by Zelensky toward the European Union during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
In an interview with Russian state television Rossiya 1, Peskov stated that the “Kyiv regime is ready to bite anyone,” adding that, in his view, this behavior reveals the true attitude of Ukraine’s leadership toward its international partners.
The Kremlin’s remarks come at a time of heightened diplomatic tensions, following Zelensky’s criticism that Europe is not acting decisively enough in the face of Russian aggression and in supporting Ukraine.
Moscow and Kyiv remain locked in open political and rhetorical confrontation, as the war and its consequences continue to shape relations between Russia, Ukraine, and the West.
