Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that Russia is reviewing recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding potential tariffs against Moscow, but emphasized that the country has already developed an “immunity” to such economic measures thanks to its long-standing experience under sanctions, Reuters reports.

“We have lived under the pressure of numerous sanctions for a long time, and our economy continues to function despite the large number of restrictions,” Peskov told reporters.

“So, naturally, we have gained immunity in this regard, and we continue to take into account all statements made by President Trump and other international representatives on the matter,” he added.

Peskov’s remarks follow Trump’s announcement on Monday that the United States plans to impose tariffs and other economic measures against Russia within 10 to 12 days, unless the Kremlin shows willingness to end the over three-year-long war in Ukraine.
