The Kremlin has stated that the radical shift in U.S. foreign policy toward Russia “largely” aligns with its own vision.
The new U.S. administration has rapidly altered many aspects of its foreign policy. “This largely coincides with our vision,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in a televised interview aired today.
“There is still a long way to go, as the entire bilateral relationship has suffered tremendous damage. But if the political will of both leaders, President (Vladimir) Putin and President (Donald) Trump, is maintained, this process could be quite fast and successful,” Peskov added.
Since his inauguration on January 20, Trump has significantly changed U.S. foreign policy compared to his predecessor, Joe Biden, by moving closer to Moscow.
On Friday, Trump launched a strong verbal attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, casting doubt on continued Washington support for Kyiv.
