A large-scale fire broke out yesterday afternoon in Ksamil, posing a direct threat to nearby residential buildings and hotels.

Authorities reported that the flames ignited at 7:30 PM, immediately mobilizing firefighters who are on the ground actively working to extinguish the blaze. Local residents have also joined the operation, but so far, their efforts have not achieved full success.

Additional Fire in Çukë and Response Efforts

Meanwhile, another fire was reported in the village of Çukë, rapidly spreading towards the mountainous area of Metoq. Strong winds and challenging terrain are contributing factors to its rapid spread. Due to a lack of road infrastructure in this area, firefighters are forced to work with improvised means.

The Ministry of Defense has released footage captured by “Bayraktar” drones to monitor the situation on the ground. “As part of addressing the fire situation in the south of the country, the Air Force has intensified aerial monitoring with drones, ensuring uninterrupted day and night surveillance over the areas most at risk from the flames. Through this advanced monitoring, the Air Force is decisively contributing to the efficient management of the emergency situation, protecting citizens’ lives, property, and the environment,” the Ministry stated.

In the last 24 hours, the National Civil Protection Agency has reported a total of 8 fire outbreaks, all of which have been successfully isolated. Nonetheless, authorities continue to urge vigilance. The National Civil Protection Agency reiterates its call for citizens to be cautious during these high-temperature days and to report any fire outbreak immediately.
