Acting Minister of Defense of Kosovo, Ejup Maqedonci, has responded to Serbia’s ongoing threats of war and occupation against Kosovo, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.

Maqedonci warned that 70% of the Serbian army is now deployed in the southern part of Serbia, near the border with Kosovo, making the threat more than rhetorical.

“These threats are always taken seriously. We view the possibility of Serbia taking destabilizing actions in the region as real. That’s why we are committed to building a capable military force to protect Kosovo’s territory, safeguard our citizens, and contribute to peace and global stability. We fully embrace NATO and Western values, promoting the interests of democratic countries,” Maqedonci told A2CNN.

KSF Prepared With NATO Allies

Maqedonci reaffirmed that the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), in cooperation with American and NATO allies, will defend every inch of Kosovo’s territory.

He raised concerns about the continued presence of Serbian forward operating bases along the border with Kosovo.

“Approximately 70% of Serbia’s entire military capacity is stationed in its southern region—close to Kosovo. In addition, there are 48 forward bases that we consider a direct threat. When a neighboring country deploys such a significant military presence at the border, it inevitably threatens the stability and security of that neighboring state.”

Serbia’s Aggressive Posture Not Accidental

Maqedonci stated that this buildup is not accidental, pointing to Serbia’s support for criminal and terrorist groups—such as the one led by Milan Radoičić, which attempted a territorial annexation of Northern Kosovo.

“This is a reflection of Serbia’s continued aggressive stance toward Kosovo,” he said.
