Pilots from the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) have successfully completed helicopter refreshment training at the Ground Aviation School in Turkey.

According to the KSF’s announcement, pilots Afrim Zabeli, Atdhe Hasaniu, and Krenar Voca enhanced their skills through practical flights during the training, which included emergency and tactical flight scenarios. They also had the opportunity to exchange professional experiences with their Turkish Armed Forces counterparts, demonstrating the high standards KSF represents in all international engagements.

The statement highlighted Turkey’s ongoing contribution to building KSF’s capabilities in various fields, particularly in strengthening its air capabilities through such collaborations. These efforts aim to increase interoperability with partners and reinforce the foundations of a modern, capable, and prepared military.

Future Air Fleet Expansion

This development follows a visit six months ago by the Acting Minister of Defense to the “Sikorsky – Lockheed Martin” factory, where various helicopters, including Black Hawks, are produced. The Kosovo Army is set to acquire Black Hawks for its air support fleet.

During that visit, Minister Maqedonci and General Jashari met with the company’s management to discuss options for integrating these helicopters into the Kosovo Security Force’s inventory. The Ministry’s announcement at the time stated, “Kosovo will be safer with helicopters flying over its sky.”
