Russian forces targeted and damaged the Kurakhove Reservoir dam in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast on Nov. 11, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin.
Filashkin’s update followed several reports detailing the assault near Stari Terny, a village situated approximately 25 kilometers (15 miles) from the strategic town of Kurakhove.
The reservoir, located along the Vovcha River, begins near the village of Progress. According to Filashkin, the attack poses a significant risk to residents in settlements along the Vovcha River in both Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, raising concerns over potential flooding and further damage in the region.
