A key political meeting is expected to take place today between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, as the country faces an ongoing institutional deadlock over the election of a new president.
The meeting, confirmed by LDK Deputy Leader Lutfi Haziri, is scheduled for 11:00 at the Assembly building in Pristina.
According to the ruling Vetëvendosje, early elections should be avoided, and Prime Minister Kurti is also expected to meet with Bedri Hamza as part of broader consultations.
Amid the continuing political crisis, Albulena Haxhiu has assumed the role of acting president, taking over duties from Vjosa Osmani, who has continued engagements with citizens across the country.
The Assembly of Kosovo now has just 23 days remaining to elect a new president, raising pressure on political leaders to reach a compromise and avoid further institutional instability.
