Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo and leader of Vetëvendosje (VV), Albin Kurti, was noticeably absent from all public activities marking 28 November, the Albanian Independence and Flag Day.
Kurti did not attend any events in Kosovo or Albania, offering only a written message posted online.

Vetëvendosje later confirmed that Kurti is currently in Malta, where he participated in the Council of the Socialist International.

During the gathering, Kurti praised his work as prime minister, claiming that his government had fought corruption and contributed to Kosovo’s economic growth.

According to a VV press release:

“The Prime Minister of Kosovo explained how, during his mandate, the fight against corruption contributed to economic growth, while redistributive social policies made development increasingly inclusive.”

VV stated that Kurti’s participation in this international forum highlights Kosovo’s engagement with global progressive organizations, reaffirming its active role in promoting peace, dialogue, freedom, democracy, solidarity, and justice.
