Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, following the first meeting of the new government, wrote about the decisions adopted by the cabinet.

Kurti listed the approved items, highlighting the most important ones.

“Inaugural and first working meeting of the new government cabinet. On the very first day of work, we convened to approve the 2026 budget and the list of international agreements, which have long been awaiting approval in the Assembly and are approaching their expiration deadlines.

We also approved a decision to request that the Assembly enable the extension of last year’s Budget Allocation Law for the month of March, to ensure that pensions and public sector salaries are executed on time, while parliamentary committees and deputies of the 10th legislature review and approve this year’s budget.

We recall that last year the Assembly of the Republic was dissolved without voting on the state budget worth €4 billion, the European Union Growth Plan worth €882.6 million, and three agreements with the World Bank worth over €120 million, thereby risking the potential benefits from them. Now that we have a constituted Assembly and a new Government in office, we have another opportunity to ratify these international agreements in the Assembly,” Kurti wrote.

In conclusion, he stated: “Serving the Republic and its citizens, with work and diligence, honor and dedication, is the greatest privilege each of us will have.”
