Among many world leaders, Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the main funeral ceremony of His Holiness, Pope Francis, held at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City.
The event gathered hundreds of delegations from around the globe and hundreds of thousands of citizens who came to bid farewell to the late Pontiff. Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, was also present. Together, they paid their respects at Pope Francis’ casket.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Kurti also conveyed his condolences by signing the electronic condolence book at the Italian Embassy in Kosovo.
In his message, Kurti described Pope Francis as a humble leader, filled with love, compassion, and social humanism, who led the Catholic Church with an open heart, spreading words of peace and working for justice and the care of the poor and marginalized.
