Full post:

On March 13, 1999, the grenade attack by Serbian forces shed blood at the Green Market in Mitrovica.

A regular morning at the market turned into a tragedy, with seven civilians killed. The oldest among them was 65 years old, and the youngest was only 5 years old.

This attack was part of Serbia’s strategy of terror and ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. This massacre, like the one at Markale Market in Sarajevo, and hundreds of others committed during the war in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, are evidence of Serbia’s genocide.

Massacres like this cannot be forgotten, nor can they remain unpunished.

Today, we commemorate the innocent victims who lost their lives in this massacre. We share the pain with the 128 injured, many of whom are left with lifelong consequences.

As we honor their memory, we reiterate that justice is essential for the families of the victims and the survivors of all war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the genocide committed by Serbia in Kosovo.

On this day of remembrance, we bow in respect before the lost lives and proudly remember the resilience of our people.

May their memory be eternal!
