The Prime Minister of Kosovo has commemorated the Poklek massacre. He stated that Serbia, through its “Horseshoe” project, even killed unborn babies in an effort to exterminate the Albanian population.

Kurti expressed that the Albanians of Kosovo are survivors of the Serbian genocide in Kosovo.

“Just two years and four months old, Fatos was killed and burned by Serbian forces. They killed him along with his sister Eronita (3 years old), mother Florije (25 years old), grandmother Miradije (56 years old), and aunts Zarife (23 years old) and Arife (21 years old).

On April 17, 1999, 53 unarmed Albanian civilians were killed in the Muçolli family’s home, ranging from 75 years old to a 6-month-old baby, Liria, and even pregnant women. Babies in cradles and unborn babies were also killed because they were the future of a people that Serbia wanted to exterminate with the “Horseshoe” project.

We, the people of Kosovo, are the survivors of Serbia’s genocide in Kosovo. Therefore, we can never forget. We will always bear witness,” he said.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Old Poklek is a testimony to the Serbian genocide against the Albanians of Kosovo.

“Today we were in Old Poklek, which is a testimony to the Serbian genocide against Albanians in Kosovo. Together with survivors and witnesses of the April 17 massacre, the monograph ‘The House with Blood on the Walls’ by Afrim Hysenaj was promoted. This book documents the crimes of the Serbian armed forces against the Muçolli family from Poklek, the Caraku family from Dritani (formerly Dobroshevci), the Elshani family from Lower Korrotica, and the Hoxha family from Upper Korrotica,” he said.
