The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, has congratulated Alain Berset on his re-election as Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
Kurti said that Berset is a great friend of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
“I look forward to working together to advance these fundamental values of the Council of Europe – values to which the Republic of Kosovo is deeply committed as an aspiring member state,” Kurti wrote.
We recall that on May 14 of this year, Kosovo failed to enter the agenda of the Council of Ministers to become part of the Council of Europe, after the government refused to bring the draft for the Association to the Constitutional Court.
