Just hours after yet another failed attempt to constitute Kosovo’s new Assembly, outgoing Prime Minister and MP Albin Kurti issued a statement on the recent arrests related to alleged collaboration with Serbia’s Intelligence Agency (BIA).

In a Facebook post, Kurti announced that five individuals—three Albanians and two Serbs—have been arrested over the past two years on suspicion of cooperating with Serbian intelligence. He credited the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), in coordination with the Police and Prosecutor’s Office, for these “successful operations.”

“These cases not only prove Serbia’s ongoing efforts to destabilize Kosovo, but also demonstrate our success in uncovering and dismantling Serbian intelligence networks,” Kurti stated.

According to Kurti, these intelligence networks aimed to:
Rewrite history to discredit the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and deny the Reçak massacre;

Infiltrate international organizations and extremist religious circles to damage Kosovo’s image and security.

Kurti revealed that one suspect, identified only as A.V., admitted guilt after being confronted with evidence.

He praised the professionalism of Kosovo’s security institutions and international partners, underlining their role in protecting the country’s sovereignty and constitutional order.

“The effective handling of these cases should serve as an example for raising awareness and strengthening our national security front,” Kurti concluded, urging public vigilance and collective engagement in safeguarding Kosovo’s security.
