Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has announced details of his meeting with Bruno Fuchs, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, held on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum.

Kurti stated that the discussion focused on concrete steps to advance Kosovo’s European integration path, both within the European Union and the Council of Europe. However, he emphasized that progress in the Council of Europe remains conditional on submitting the draft statute of the Association to the Constitutional Court.

In a post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kurti wrote:

“In particular, I emphasized that the removal of the EU’s measures against Kosovo has been delayed for far too long, and it is time for Kosovo to receive the EU membership questionnaire and move forward towards candidate status. We also discussed tangible ways to further strengthen our already strong relations.”

Kurti’s comments come amid growing frustration in Pristina over what officials describe as unjust and politically motivated restrictions imposed by the European Union following last year’s tensions in northern Kosovo.
