The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, announced that starting January 1, 2025, holders of identification documents from Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to travel freely to Kosovo.
“While the entity of Republika Srpska refuses to ratify the mobility agreement for free movement with ID, which my country was the first in the region to ratify in Parliament, I have decided to end the waiting. Beginning January 1 of next year, the Republic of Kosovo will unilaterally allow free movement for holders of IDs from Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Kurti stated.
He added that for a decade, the Berlin Process has played a key role in bringing the Western Balkan region closer to the EU.
Despite internal and external challenges, Kurti emphasized that the Berlin Process remains a driving force for European integration and the thread that connects the six countries of the Western Balkans.
“This is what we recognize and celebrate today here in Berlin. The Common Regional Market (CRM) is one of its greatest achievements. New momentum has been gained following the resolution of the deadlock within CEFTA. Now we can move forward with a different pace, with equality at the center and citizens as the ultimate users,” he expressed.
