Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced details of his visit to the Kosovo Intelligence Agency a day after attending an event marking the 18th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence.

During the visit on Friday, certificates were awarded to new intelligence officials, and a modern facility within the AKI complex was officially inaugurated, underscoring the government’s continued focus on strengthening the country’s security sector.

In his statement, Kurti emphasized that intelligence services remain one of the most important pillars in protecting Kosovo’s sovereignty. He noted that the government has provided consistent support to the agency, including significant budget increases, adding that this backing will continue in the future.

The prime minister also said he was encouraged by the agency’s progress, stressing that AKI is steadily advancing its technological, analytical, and operational capabilities, adapting to what he described as a changing security environment and strengthening cooperation with domestic institutions and international partners.

According to Kurti, the intelligence agency’s successes in recent years have contributed not only to Kosovo’s national security but also to regional stability. He highlighted that threats such as espionage, hybrid and cyber threats, extremism, radicalization, and organized crime have been addressed with professionalism, helping enhance overall security.
