Albin Kurti held a phone conversation with Marta Kos to discuss Kosovo’s reform agenda and its path toward membership in the European Union.

During the discussion, Kurti emphasized that one of the first decisions of the Assembly this year was the adoption of the new state budget worth €4 billion, along with the Growth Plan valued at €882.6 million, which aims to accelerate reforms and support the country’s economic development.

According to the prime minister, the first six months of this year will include several implementation steps, primarily related to the approval of new legislation in the Assembly, with measures estimated at around €90 million.

Kurti stressed that integration into the European Union remains the central priority of his government, highlighting the importance of Kosovo obtaining EU candidate status, which would represent a key milestone on the path toward full membership.

The conversation also addressed current developments in Kosovo and the wider region.

Kurti reaffirmed that Kosovo is fully aligned with the EU’s foreign and security policy, noting that the country has implemented all sanction packages imposed by the EU against Russia following its aggression against Ukraine.

The discussion highlighted continued cooperation between Kosovo’s government and European institutions as the country pursues deeper integration with the EU.
