On Liberation Day, Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, accompanied by Acting Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla and Acting Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla, paid respects at the grave of former President Ibrahim Rugova.

Kurti described Rugova as a “great contributor to the unity of the people and to the internationalization of the Kosovo issue.”

“By laying fresh flowers at the grave of the historic president, Ibrahim Rugova, a great contributor to the unity of the people and to the internationalization of Kosovo and the national cause in general throughout the 90s and subsequently the first president of Kosovo, we will continue to the grave of the symbol of resistance, the Mandela of Albanians and Europe, Adem Demaçi, and then to the Adem Jashari complex,” Kurti stated.

The acting Prime Minister expressed that these visits aim to commemorate those who worked and sacrificed for the state being developed today.

“With these visits, we thus mark our joy for liberation, but also our remembrance for those who worked and sacrificed for the state that we are building and developing today,” Kurti declared.
