Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that the year 2024 marks the “certificate of success” for the Public Enterprise “Ibër-Lepenc.” According to Kurti, this company managed to recover excellently from the damage caused by the November 29 terrorist attack, and it is expected to close the year with a net profit of 1.6 million euros, up from a loss of 2.9 million euros at the end of 2021.

“2024 is the certificate of success for the Public Enterprise ‘Ibër-Lepenc.’ In addition to successfully managing the damage caused by the terrorist attack on November 29, and fully rehabilitating the damaged canal within a month, this company is expected to end the year with around 1.6 million euros in net profit,” Kurti wrote.

Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, also commented on the enterprise’s performance, noting that Ibër-Lepenc became a profitable company in 2022 after at least seven years of operating with losses.

“Ibër-Lepenc turned into a profitable enterprise in 2022, and is expected to generate even higher profits in 2024, after at least seven years of losses,” Rizvanolli added, though she noted that the figures are still preliminary.
