The Embassy of Switzerland in Pristina has announced that the president of the National Council of Switzerland, Eric Nussbaumer, started his visit to Kosovo from July 8 to July 11.
The President of the National Council will meet tomorrow with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, while he met with Speaker Glauk Konjufca and the head of diplomacy, Donika Gërvalla.
Gërvalla, in the meeting with him, emphasized the advancement of bilateral relations in the strengthening of democracy, education and investments in human capacities, with special emphasis on young people, and expressed deep gratitude for Switzerland’s support to Kosovo from the period of liberation until independence. development and integration.
She appreciated Switzerland’s contribution to Kosovo, including the development of democracy, professional education, local government, infrastructure projects in environmental protection, water supply, agriculture and more, as well as the continuous support in the process of membership in the Council of Europe.
The two sides further emphasized the importance of the Kosovar diaspora in Switzerland, talking about its successful integration, economic empowerment and its important role in strengthening the ties between the two countries. Minister Gërvalla underlined that emigration is a strong bridge of cooperation and a precious asset for the further development of Kosovo.
The President of the National Council of Switzerland, Eric Nussbaumer, also spoke about the political current affairs in the country.
“As I have mentioned, I think that stable peace also in this northern part is very important for Switzerland, therefore we support all efforts that support the dialogue that can continue with that both countries find a solution, have a solution for the non-majority population, but I am not in a position as president of the Swiss National Council to discuss whether we should punish Serbia, but I think that if it is not in line with this agreement, we should work together, clarify the situation, let’s find a solution, let’s get out of this blockade”, he said after the meeting with Konjfuca.
