Prime Minister Albin Kurti has urged Serbian citizens in Kosovo, who have not yet applied to convert their illegal driver’s licenses to legitimate Kosovo licenses, to do so by August 23.
In a post on the platform “X,” announcing that the deadline has been extended to August 23, Kurti thanked all those citizens who responded positively to the call to apply.
“In three months, we have received a total of 5,588 requests from our Serbian fellow citizens to convert their driver’s licenses issued by illegal and parallel structures from Serbia into legitimate and official ones of the Republic of Kosovo.
Due to the high interest, we have decided to extend the deadline for another two weeks.
I want to thank all Serbian citizens of Kosovo who have responded positively to our call to apply. I extend my invitation to all those who have not yet applied to take advantage of this opportunity until August 23,” Kurti wrote.
The deadline for converting illegal driver’s licenses to RKS has been extended until August 23.
This was announced on Thursday by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla. Sveçla stated that the extension of the deadline is due to the high number of requests. He mentioned that just yesterday, there were 273 requests to convert illegal driver’s licenses to RKS.
