Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that Kosovo is ready for major infrastructure partnerships and open to serious investments, emphasizing that the country is continuously expanding trade opportunities with Europe, the region, and beyond.
During his speech at the French Business Day on Thursday in Pristina, Kurti noted that Kosovo already enjoys institutional stability, a key element for business development and attracting foreign investments.
“Kosovo is ready for major infrastructure partnerships, open to serious investments, and is expanding trade opportunities with Europe, the region, and beyond. The Republic of Kosovo is an independent and consolidated state, with a clear European orientation and institutional stability, which is essential for businesses as it provides public security, predictability, and strong fiscal discipline,” Kurti said, according to EO.
He also addressed reducing bureaucracy, calling it one of the government’s priorities to improve the business climate.
“As a prime minister, I rarely receive applause for reducing bureaucracy, but I have noticed that entrepreneurs respond with actions: when processes are simple, they return; when they are complicated, they hire lawyers. Beyond the humor, this is the essence of our reforms,” Kurti said.
According to him, the government’s goal is to make doing business in Kosovo easier, more transparent, and faster, so that companies can focus on construction, production, and exports.
Kurti highlighted that European companies are increasingly seeking reliability, shorter supply chains, trusted partners, and sustainable environments, adding that Kosovo is well-positioned to efficiently serve regional and European markets.
Meanwhile, the French Ambassador to Kosovo, Olivier Guerot, emphasized that the interest of French companies demonstrates Kosovo’s attractiveness.
“However, two points are very clear: first, taking this risk was a good choice, and second, Kosovo is an attractive country for French companies. To the French companies present today, especially those discovering Kosovo, I want to say simply: thank you, thank you for taking the risk to explore, because there is much to discover in this beautiful country. So much energy, so much youth, so much entrepreneurial spirit. And those who had the opportunity yesterday or this morning to walk through Pristina could see this with their own eyes. The country is transforming, developing, building, modernizing, investing,” he said.
He added that relations between France and Kosovo are strong.
“It is also a country with which France maintains a very, very positive relationship, a partner, and even more so a friendly country. This relationship is supported by human ties with the diaspora, which is clearly visible among us, as well as cultural connections,” Guerot added.
